Eclectic, immersive and mesmerizing; International acclaimed guitarist and songwriter Hiroya Tsukamoto will take concertgoers on an innovative, impressionistic journey filled with earthty, organic soundscapes that impart a mood of peace and tranquility.

Tsukamoto is a one-of-a-kind composer, guitarist, and singer-songwriter from Kyoto, Japan. Hiroya began playing the five-string banjo when he was thirteen and credits Earl Scruggs, ‘Foggy Mountain Banjo,’ as an early influence. He took up the guitar shortly thereafter. This unique concert performance includes music, stories and poetry, as well as concertgoer interaction with the artist.

After graduating on a scholarship from Berklee College of Music, Hiroya moved to New York to continue a focus on jazz, to meet and play with many talented musicians from all over the world, and to expand into writing in all different styles. When his music was described as “Cinematic Guitar Poetry,” he comments that it may be the vibe created from writing most of his music while traveling. Hiroya has also released three solo albums entitled Solo, Heartland, and Places.

Hiroya has performed internationally including several appearances at The Blue Note in New York City and on Japanese National Television with his group INTEROCEANICO. In 2018, Hiroya was awarded second prize at the International Finger Style Guitar Championship. WWW.HIROYATSUKAMOTO.COM
